Vimos por este meio acusar a recepção da mensagem relativa à censura e rejeição (conteúdo impróprio) do vídeo «Censura, O Eterno Feminino» da Pulga Estúdios.

Antes de mais, gostaríamos de enquadrar a realização do vídeo no contexto português. Recentemente, uma feira do livro que teve lugar em Braga foi alvo de polémica e de denúncia do livro «Pornocracia» de Catherine Breillat por ostentar na capa o quadro de Gustave Courbet «A Origem do Mundo». Perante a denúncia, a polícia interferiu e apreendeu os exemplares à venda que, mais tarde, acabaram por ser restituídos.

Deste episódio da realidade portuguesa, surgiu a ideia de realizar um pequeno vídeo alusivo ao ocorrido, tendo como fundo a imagem do quadro supra referido («A Origem do Mundo» de G. Courbet) e que, segundo nos consta, continua exposto no Museu d’Orsay.

Perante isto, e tendo conhecimento dos termos de uso do YouTube, não encontramos motivos para que o nosso vídeo tenha sido rejeitado, na medida em que não veicula qualquer conteúdo pornográfico ou sexualmente explicito, sequer viola os direitos de autor no referente à obra de G. Courbet.

Dear Sirs,

We acknowledge the message sent by the YouTube Team concerning the censorship and rejection (content inappropriate) of the video «Censura, O Eterno Feminino» by Pulga Estúdios.

First of all, we would like to frame this video in the scope of the Portuguese context. Recently, a few copies of the book «Pornocratie» by Catherine Breillat were seized by the police, in Braga, for showing on the cover the painting of Gustave Courbet «The Origin of the World».

Based on this episode of the Portuguese reality, we wanted to make a video emphasizing why there was the complaint about «public pornography» and showing as the only image the painting itself («The Origin of the World» by G. Courbet) that as far as we know is still shown at the Musée d’Orsay.

Therefore and according to the Terms of Use, we find no reason to explain why our video has been removed, since it has no sexual content and it does not harm the copyright concerning G. Courbet´s painting.
